Dog Friendly Torquay - Cockington Country Park
If you are bringing your four legged friend away with you for a break in Torquay at any time of year, Cockington Country Park is a wonderful destination that you will all enjoy.
In the autumn, winter and early Spring it is possible to find free on road parking on the approaches to Cockington (by the gatehouse to the park). After Good Friday and before 30th September it is necessary to park in either the Coast and Countryside car park or else the Council car park which is in the centre of the village.
In the Spring, the area around the lakes becomes alive with blooming Camelias and Rhodedendrons and by the summer the giant gunnera create an exotic backdrop to pools teaming with wildlife.
The country park provides ample opportunities for dogs and owners to really get a good exercise and at Cockington Court there are fascinating craft studios and a cafe and nearby in the village there is a pub as well as cafes and ice cream stands. Near to the Court is Cockington Church
Throughout the year, Cockington Country Park hosts events ranging from outside theatrical productions to country fairs.
